Y can see the sea from the terrace of the villa. The main sandy beach can be reached within 5 minutes drive from the Villa. The beautiful historical castle Castillo de Dénia stands on a hill above the city. Traditional fish, vegetable and flea markets or boat trips to nearby Ibiza are very popular. Dénia's personal marina is worth seeing, as well as the pedestrian shopping area in the city center with its many excellent restaurants and cafes. There is a thermal lake in the surrounding, which you can swim even in winter in. There are many caves, a chapel from the 16th century, golf courses, as well as a shopping center as well as several very popular cycling routes.

SEA AND BEACH

The coast of Dénia is more than 20 km long. There are sandy beaches spreading from the harbor to the north with a gradual entrance to the sea, sometimes transitioning into pebble beaches. It is ideal for swimming and for windsurfing or kitesurfing. There are also many playgrounds for beach volleyball and football. The southern part of the coast of Les Rotes, on the other hand, is rocky with small pebble beaches. This area is visited by fansof a more wild nature. Divers will also find great conditions in these clear waters. You can walk to Les Rotes along the sea and the cobbled promenade, sometimes alternating with a stony road. This route is ideal for walking with a stroller, jogging or cycling. You will see rocky cliffs in the front at the end of the route, which hide the nudist beach of La Cala.

CASTILLO DE DÉNIA

There is a castle from the 11th - 12th century located on a n top of a small hill, (66 m) above the city . You can walk to the castle from the center or buy a round trip on the tourist train.. The path is barrier-free and manageable even for children. There is also a cafe located at the top of the castle, where you can enjoy coffee or ice cream with a wonderful view of the city, harbor and beaches.

MONTGÓ MOUNTAIN

The Montgó massif is located directly at the edge the town of Dénia and reaches an altitude of 753 m. There are several nice hiking and cycling trails in the Montgó nature park. Locals consider the Pare Pere chapel located at the foot of the mountain, to be a magical place. The cave in the Cabo de San Antonio cliff located at sea level is also very popular. You can reach it by a route starting at Torre del Guerro. The route is interesting as it is climbed using ropes and stairs. Bicycle lovers would certainly find the Vía Verde cycle path, which is lined with orange and tangerine orchards, interesting.

FISH AUCTION

The port of Dénia has extensive facilities. It offers beautiful promenades or you enjoy t sittiing in a restaurants or cafes. Ferries depart from Balearia Port to the nearby islands of Ibiza and Formentera. The port also consists of the so-called lonja, where a fish auction takes place every weekday at 4:30 p.m., after the fishing boats return from the sea. It is an interesting experience for children and adults.

TRADITIONAL MARKETS

There is a traditional fruit and vegetable market in the Mercat Municipal every Friday. You can buy there artichokes, dragon fruit, fragrant pineapples, spices, amazing tomatoes or fresh cheeses and seafood. The handicraft markets on the coastal promenade are very popular in the summer season,. Flea and antique markets are opened every Monday. The market in the fishing harbor is full of freshly caught fish and seafood brought to the harbor by fishing boats every early evening after 5 p.m. The Mercat Municipal is a traditional place where locals meet every morning to have coffee and buy fruit, vegetables, fish, cold meats and cheese.
